TWD: Cranberry Lime Galette

A million things tell you the holidays are coming, and the appearance of fresh cranberries in every grocery store is one of them. Perfectly timed for the season, this week’s TWD recipe uses fresh beatiful cranberries, apple, and gets a nice little twang from lime and a kick from fresh ginger.

I love galettes for how easy they are and the lack of perfection they require…I mean, they are supposed to look rustic, so there’s no such thing as making a mistake!

This surely looked lovely and smelled delightful. Mine seemed to have an, er, extra punch from the ginger. Apparently my guess of what a 1 1/2 inch piece looks like was a bit on the generous side? But it was still good, tart and spicey and super simple.

  1. I was thinking the amount of ginger could vary widely, depending on how thin or wide your piece of ginger was. I think mine was on the fat side because it seemed like a lot of ginger for the amount of filling. Anyway, your galette looks wonderful. I like the chunky sugar you used on the crust.

  2. Yum, I wish computers had smell-o-vision! It looks great. And rustic desserts are usually the ones that come out best in my kitchen. There’s less pressure for perfection that in the end, it just looks beautiful all on its own :)
