This weekend, my roommate is hosting a fundraiser cocktail party for a fantastic cause – for the second year in a row, she is going to bike nearly 200 miles over two days raising money for the Jimmy Fund, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. There is a $4500 minimum donation required to participate, and last year she surpassed that goal. This year, she’s taking a different approach and turning it into a little fun – for a donation of $35, you can come over for cocktails and munchies and the company of good friends. Not a bad deal, right?
Recently, we had noticed a surge in infused vodka drinks in bars and restaurants pretty much everywhere (I would say just in our area, but I think it really started with a drink when we were in South Africa!). So, after a wee bit of research, we decided to try it ourselves. Basically, you can cut up whatever you like – in our case we did cucumbers and honey dew melon – pour vodka over it and let it sit for a few days. The adorable bottles came from Pier 1.
We plan to have club soda on hand for mixing, and perhaps even some fresh lemonade or grapefruit juice…the bottles as they are now were too pretty not to post, I’ll have to report back on the drinks themselves!
